With patch "drm/i915/vbt: Fix backlight parsing for VBT 234+" the size of bdb_lfp_backlight_data structure has been increased, causing if-statement in the parse_lfp_backlight function that comapres this structure size to the one retrieved from BDB, always to fail for older revisions. This patch calculates expected size of the structure for a given BDB version and compares it with the value gathered from BDB. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
