This is a preparatory change for the deletion of skb_reset_mac_header(skb) from __dev_queue_xmit(). After that deletion, skb_mac_header(skb) will no longer be set in TX paths, from which __vlan_insert_inner_tag() can still be called (perhaps indirectly). If we don't make this change, then an unset MAC header (equal to ~0U) will become set after the adjustment with VLAN_HLEN. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
