If the file is written to and sync_state() hasn't been called for the device yet, then call sync_state() for the device independent of the state of its consumers. This is useful for supplier devices that have one or more consumers that don't have a driver but the consumers are in a state that don't use the resources supplied by the supplier device. This gives finer grained control than using the fw_devlink.sync_state=timeout kernel commandline parameter. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
