The card name for ALSA is generated from the model name string and is limited to 16 characters. Use a shorter name to prevent cutting the name. Since nearly all starter kit mainboards for i.MX based SoM by TQ-Systems use the same codec with the same routing on board it is a good idea to use the same model name for the sound card. This allows sharing a default asound.conf in BSP over all the kits. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
