This driver often takes on the order of 10ms to start, but in some cases as much as 190ms. It shouldn't have many cross-device dependencies to race with, nor racy access to shared state with other drivers, so this should be a relatively low risk change. We've done similarly with a variety of other MMC host drivers already. This driver was pinpointed as part of a survey of top slowest initcalls (i.e., are built in, and probing synchronously) on a lab of ChromeOS systems. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
