Commit52f2347808("mm/slub.c: fix corrupted freechain in deactivate_slab()") suffered an update when picked up from LKML [1]. Specifically, relocating 'freelist = NULL' into 'freelist_corrupted()' created a no-op statement. Fix it by sticking to the behavior intended in the original patch [1]. In addition, make freelist_corrupted() immune to passing NULL instead of &freelist. The issue has been spotted via static analysis and code review. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
