Online directory and parent repairs on parent-pointer equipped filesystems have shown that starting a large number of parallel iscans causes a lot of AGI buffer contention. Try to reduce this by making it so that iscans scan wrap around the end of the filesystem, and using a rotor to stagger where each scanner begins. Surprisingly, this boosts CPU utilization (on the author's test machines) from effectively single-threaded to 160%. Not great, but see the next patch. Signed-off-by: Darrick J. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
