We make copies of the dentry name in set_request_path_attr, but then create_request_message re-fetches the lengths out of the dentry. While we don't currently set the *_drop fields unless the parents are locked, it's still better not to rely on that sort of implicit assumption. Use the pathlen values that set_request_path_attr returned instead, as they will always be correct for the returned paths themselves. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
