The vm_insert_page method is only usable on vmas with the VM_MIXEDMAP flag, so we introduce a new type to keep track of such vmas. The approach used in this patch assumes that we will not need to encode many flag combinations in the type. I don't think we need to encode more than VM_MIXEDMAP and VM_PFNMAP as things are now. However, if that becomes necessary, using generic parameters in a single type would scale better as the number of flags increases. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
