The pointer reg is assigned a value that is never read, it is later overwritten with a new value, hence the redundant initialization can be removed. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``.
