If watchpoint exception is generated by larx/stcx instructions, the reservation created by larx gets lost while handling exception, and thus stcx instruction always fails. Generally these instructions are used in a while(1) loop, for example spinlocks. And because stcx never succeeds, it loops forever and ultimately hangs the system. Note that ptrace anyway works in one-shot mode and thus for ptrace we don't change the behaviour. It's up to ptrace user to take care of this. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
