Propagating errors to dependent fences is broken and can lead to errors from one client ending up in another. In commit3761baae90("Revert "drm/i915: Propagate errors on awaiting already signaled fences""), we attempted to get rid of fence error propagation but missed the case added in commit8e9f84cf5c("drm/i915/gt: Propagate change in error status to children on unhold"). Revert that one too. This error was found by an up-and-coming selftest which triggers a reset during request cancellation and verifies that subsequent requests complete successfully. v2: (Daniel Vetter) - Use revert v3: (Jason) - Update commit message v4 (Daniele): - fix checkpatch error in commit message. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
