Livepatch modules are special in that we preserve their entire symbol tables in order to be able to apply relocations after module load. The unwanted side effect of this is that undefined (SHN_UNDEF) symbols of livepatch modules are accessible via the kallsyms api and this can confuse symbol resolution in livepatch (klp_find_object_symbol()) and cause subtle bugs in livepatch. Have the module kallsyms api skip over SHN_UNDEF symbols. These symbols are usually not available for normal modules anyway as we cut down their symbol tables to just the core (non-undefined) symbols, so this should really just affect livepatch modules. Note that this patch doesn't affect the display of undefined symbols in /proc/kallsyms. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
