lockd allows SIGKILL and responds by dropping all locks and restarting the grace period. This functionality has been present since 2.1.32 when lockd was added to Linux. This functionality is undocumented and most likely added as a useful debug aid. When there is a need to drop locks, the better approach is to use /proc/fs/nfsd/unlock_*. This patch removes SIGKILL handling as part of preparation for removing all signal handling from sunrpc service threads. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
