The "mbm_event" counter assignment mode allows users to assign a hardware counter to an RMID, event pair and monitor bandwidth usage as long as it is assigned. The hardware continues to track the assigned counter until it is explicitly unassigned by the user. Create 'num_mbm_cntrs' resctrl file that displays the number of counters supported in each domain. 'num_mbm_cntrs' is only visible to user space when the system supports "mbm_event" mode. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
