There's a big comment saying how useful it is but no one is using this for anything anymore. It was added in2bfa996e03("drm/i915: Store owning file on the i915_address_space") and used for debugfs at the time as well as telling the difference between the global GTT and a PPGTT. Inf6e8aa3871("drm/i915: Report the number of closed vma held by each context in debugfs") we removed one use of it by switching to a context walk and comparing with the VM in the context. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
