Various block drivers call blk_set_queue_dying to mark a disk as dead due to surprise removal events, but since commit8e141f9eb8that doesn't work given that the GD_DEAD flag needs to be set to stop I/O. Replace the driver calls to blk_set_queue_dying with a new (and properly documented) blk_mark_disk_dead API, and fold blk_set_queue_dying into the only remaining caller. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
