There is no need to exclusively set the .owner member of the struct device_driver when defining the platform_driver struct. The Linux core takes care of setting the .owner member as part of the call to module_platform_driver() helper function. Issue identified using the platform_no_drv_owner.cocci Coccinelle semantic patch as: drivers/gpu/drm/bridge/samsung-dsim.c:1957:6-11: No need to set .owner here. The core will do it. No functional changes are intended. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
