Allow the special case of a redirect from a lower layer to a data layer without having to turn on metacopy. This makes the feature work with userxattr, which in turn allows data layers to be usable in user namespaces. Minimize the risk by only enabling redirect from a single lower layer to a data layer iff a data layer is specified. The only way to access a data layer is to enable this, so there's really no reason not to enable this. This can be used safely if the lower layer is read-only and the user.overlay.redirect xattr cannot be modified. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
