This switches m68k to using common code for the DMA allocations, including potential use of the CMA allocator if configured. Also add a comment where the existing behavior seems to be lacking. Switching to the generic code enables DMA allocations from atomic context, which is required by the DMA API documentation, and also adds various other minor features drivers start relying upon. It also makes sure we have a tested code base for all architectures that require uncached pte bits for coherent DMA allocations. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
