GUP now supports reliable R/O long-term pinning in COW mappings, such that we break COW early. MAP_SHARED VMAs only use the shared zeropage so far in one corner case (DAXFS file with holes), which can be ignored because GUP does not support long-term pinning in fsdax (see check_vma_flags()). Consequently, FOLL_FORCE | FOLL_WRITE | FOLL_LONGTERM is no longer required for reliable R/O long-term pinning: FOLL_LONGTERM is sufficient. So stop using FOLL_FORCE, which is really only for ptrace access. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
