Pass vm_flags as a parameter to shmem_is_huge, rather than reading the flags from the vm_area_struct in question. This allows the updated flags from hugepage_madvise to be passed to the check, which is necessary because madvise does not update the vm_area_struct's flags until after hugepage_madvise returns. This fixes an issue when shmem_enabled=madvise, where MADV_HUGEPAGE on shmem was not able to register the mm_struct with khugepaged. Prior tocd89fb0650, the mm_struct was registered by MADV_HUGEPAGE regardless of the value of shmem_enabled (which was only checked when scanning vmas). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
