Commit1bc54c0311("powerpc: rework 4xx PTE access and TLB miss") reworked 44x PTE access to avoid atomic pte updates, and left 8xx, 40x and fsl booke with atomic pte updates. Commit6cfd8990e2("powerpc: rework FSL Book-E PTE access and TLB miss") removed atomic pte updates on fsl booke. It went away on 8xx with commitddfc20a3b9("powerpc/8xx: Remove PTE_ATOMIC_UPDATES"). 40x is the last platform setting PTE_ATOMIC_UPDATES. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
