The ASoC soc-utils driver does not require the creation of a platform device. Originally, this approach was chosen for simplicity when the driver was first implemented. With the introduction of the lightweight faux device interface, we now have a more appropriate alternative. Migrate the driver to utilize the faux bus, given that the platform device it previously created was not a real one anyway. This will simplify the code, reducing its footprint while maintaining functionality. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
