For gen9 we enable cmdparsing on the BCS ring, specifically to catch inadvertent accesses to sensitive registers Unlike gen7/hsw, we use the parser only to block certain registers. We can rely on h/w to block restricted commands, so the command tables only provide enough info to allow the parser to delineate each command, and identify commands that access registers. Note: This patch deliberately ignores checkpatch issues in favour of matching the style of the surrounding code. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
