Convert ASTDP support to struct drm_edid and its helpers. Simplifies and modernizes the EDID handling. The driver reads 4 bytes at once, but the overall read length is now variable. Therefore update the EDID read loop to never return more than the requested bytes. The device does not seem to support EDID extensions, as the driver actively clears any such information from the main EDID header. As the new interface allows for reading extension blocks for EDID, make sure that the block is always 0 (i.e., the main header). Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
