If you run 'make dtbs_check' without installing the libyaml package, the error message "dtc needs libyaml ..." is shown. This should be checked also for 'make dt_binding_check' because dtc needs to validate *.example.dts extracted from *.yaml files. It is missing since commit4f0e3a57d6("kbuild: Add support for DT binding schema checks"), but this fix-up is applicable only after commite10c4321dc("kbuild: allow to run dt_binding_check and dtbs_check in a single command"). I gave the Fixes tag to the latter in case somebody is interested in back-porting this. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
