Building the kernel on s390 with -Og produces the following warning: WARNING: vmlinux.o(.text+0x28dabe): Section mismatch in reference from the function populate_section_memmap() to the function .meminit.text:__populate_section_memmap() The function populate_section_memmap() references the function __meminit __populate_section_memmap(). This is often because populate_section_memmap lacks a __meminit annotation or the annotation of __populate_section_memmap is wrong. While -Og is not supported, in theory this might still happen with another compiler or on another architecture. So fix this by using the correct section annotations. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
