The kernel would like to have all stack VLA usage removed[1]. The array here is fixed (declared with a const variable) but it appears like a VLA to the compiler. Also, currently we are putting 768 bytes on the stack. This function is only called on the error path so performance is not critical, let's just allocate the memory instead of using the stack. This saves stack space and removes the VLA build warning. kmalloc a buffer for dumping state instead of using the stack. [1]: https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/3/7/621 Signed-off-by: Tobin C. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
