Merge CPU power management updates for 6.6-rc1:
- Rework the menu and teo cpuidle governors to avoid calling
tick_nohz_get_sleep_length(), which is likely to become quite
expensive going forward, too often and improve making decisions
regarding whether or not to stop the scheduler tick in the teo
governor (Rafael Wysocki).
- Improve the performance of cpufreq_stats_create_table() in some
cases (Liao Chang).
- Fix two issues in the amd-pstate-ut cpufreq driver (Swapnil Sapkal).
- Use clamp() helper macro to improve the code readability in
cpufreq_verify_within_limits() (Liao Chang).
- Set stale CPU frequency to minimum in intel_pstate (Doug Smythies).
* pm-cpuidle:
cpuidle: teo: Avoid unnecessary variable assignments
cpuidle: menu: Skip tick_nohz_get_sleep_length() call in some cases
cpuidle: teo: Gather statistics regarding whether or not to stop the tick
cpuidle: teo: Skip tick_nohz_get_sleep_length() call in some cases
cpuidle: teo: Do not call tick_nohz_get_sleep_length() upfront
cpuidle: teo: Drop utilized from struct teo_cpu
cpuidle: teo: Avoid stopping the tick unnecessarily when bailing out
cpuidle: teo: Update idle duration estimate when choosing shallower state
* pm-cpufreq:
cpufreq: amd-pstate-ut: Fix kernel panic when loading the driver
cpufreq: amd-pstate-ut: Remove module parameter access
cpufreq: Use clamp() helper macro to improve the code readability
cpufreq: intel_pstate: set stale CPU frequency to minimum
cpufreq: stats: Improve the performance of cpufreq_stats_create_table()
Notice that it is not necessary to assign tick_intercept_sum in every
iteration of the first loop over idle states in teo_select(), because
the intercept_sum value does not change after the assignment in a
given iteration of the loop, so its value after the last iteration of
the loop can be used for computing the tick_intercept_sum value
directly.
Modify the code accordingly.
No intentional functional impact.

In amd-pstate-ut, shared memory-based systems call
get_shared_mem() as part of amd_pstate_ut_check_enabled()
function. This function was written when CONFIG_X86_AMD_PSTATE
was tristate config and amd_pstate can be built as a module.
Currently CONFIG_X86_AMD_PSTATE is a boolean config and module
parameter shared_mem is removed. But amd-pstate-ut code still
accesses this module parameter. Remove those accesses.

On some platforms a device and its corresponding PM domain, may need to
remain powered-on during system wide suspend, to support various use cases.
For example, when the console_suspend_enabled flag is unset for a serial
controller, the corresponding device may need to remain powered on. Other
use cases exists too.
In fact, we already have the mechanism in the PM core to deal with these
kind of use cases. However, the current naming of the corresponding
functions/flags clearly suggests these should be use for system wakeup.
See device_wakeup_path(), device_set_wakeup_path and
dev->power.wakeup_path.
As a way to extend the use of the existing mechanism, let's introduce two
new helpers functions, device_awake_path() and device_set_awake_path(). At
this point, let them act as wrappers of the existing functions. Ideally,
when all users have been converted to use the new helpers, we may decide to
drop the old ones and rename the flag.

The intel_pstate CPU frequency scaling driver does not
use policy->cur and it is 0.
When the CPU frequency is outdated arch_freq_get_on_cpu()
will default to the nominal clock frequency when its call to
cpufreq_quick_getpolicy_cur returns the never updated 0.
Thus, the listed frequency might be outside of currently
set limits. Some users are complaining about the high
reported frequency, albeit stale, when their system is
idle and/or it is above the reduced maximum they have set.
This patch will maintain policy_cur for the intel_pstate
driver at the current minimum CPU frequency.

In the worst case, the freq_table of policy data is not sorted and
contains duplicate frequencies, this means that it needs to iterate
through the entire freq_table of policy to ensure each frequency is
unique in the freq_table of stats data, this has a time complexity of
O(N^2), where N is the number of frequencies in the freq_table of
policy.
However, if the policy.freq_table is already sorted and contains no
duplicate frequencies, it can reduce the time complexity of creating
stats.freq_table to O(N), the 'freq_table_sorted' field of policy data
can be used to indicate whether the policy.freq_table is sorted.

blk-mq: release scheduler resource when request completes
blk-crypto: dynamically allocate fallback profile

drivers/rnbd: restore sysfs interface to rnbd-client
Chuck reported [1] an IO hang problem on NFS exports that reside on SATA
devices and bisected to commit 615939a2ae ("blk-mq: defer to the normal
submission path for post-flush requests").
We analysed the IO hang problem, found there are two postflush requests
waiting for each other.
The first postflush request completed the REQ_FSEQ_DATA sequence, so go to
the REQ_FSEQ_POSTFLUSH sequence and added in the flush pending list, but
failed to blk_kick_flush() because of the second postflush request which
is inflight waiting in scheduler queue.
The second postflush waiting in scheduler queue can't be dispatched because
the first postflush hasn't released scheduler resource even though it has
completed by itself.
Fix it by releasing scheduler resource when the first postflush request
completed, so the second postflush can be dispatched and completed, then
make blk_kick_flush() succeed.
While at it, remove the check for e->ops.finish_request, as all
schedulers set that. Reaffirm this requirement by adding a WARN_ON_ONCE()
at scheduler registration time, just like we do for insert_requests and
dispatch_request.

- Adjust objtool to handle the new thunks
- Make the thunk pointer assignable to the different untraining

asm-generic: partially revert "Unify uapi bitsperlong.h for arm64, riscv and loongarch"
In production we were seeing a variety of WARN_ON()'s in the extent_map
code, specifically in btrfs_drop_extent_map_range() when we have to call
add_extent_mapping() for our second split.
Consider the following extent map layout
PINNED
[0 16K) [32K, 48K)
and then we call btrfs_drop_extent_map_range for [0, 36K), with
skip_pinned == true. The initial loop will have
start = 0
end = 36K
len = 36K
we will find the [0, 16k) extent, but since we are pinned we will skip
it, which has this code
start = em_end;
if (end != (u64)-1)
len = start + len - em_end;
em_end here is 16K, so now the values are
start = 16K
len = 16K + 36K - 16K = 36K
len should instead be 20K. This is a problem when we find the next
extent at [32K, 48K), we need to split this extent to leave [36K, 48k),
however the code for the split looks like this
split->start = start + len;
split->len = em_end - (start + len);
In this case we have
em_end = 48K
split->start = 16K + 36K // this should be 16K + 20K
split->len = 48K - (16K + 36K) // this overflows as 16K + 36K is 52K
and now we have an invalid extent_map in the tree that potentially
overlaps other entries in the extent map. Even in the non-overlapping
case we will have split->start set improperly, which will cause problems
with any block related calculations.
We don't actually need len in this loop, we can simply use end as our
end point, and only adjust start up when we find a pinned extent we need
to skip.
Adjust the logic to do this, which keeps us from inserting an invalid
extent map.
We only skip_pinned in the relocation case, so this is relatively rare,
except in the case where you are running relocation a lot, which can
happen with auto relocation on.

While performing certain power-off sequences, PCI drivers are
called to suspend and resume their underlying devices through
PCI PM (power management) interface. However this NIC hardware
does not support PCI PM suspend/resume operations so system wide
suspend/resume leads to bad MFW (management firmware) state which
causes various follow-up errors in driver when communicating with
the device/firmware afterwards.
To fix this driver implements PCI PM suspend handler to indicate
unsupported operation to the PCI subsystem explicitly, thus avoiding
system to go into suspended/standby mode.
Without this fix device/firmware does not recover unless system
is power cycled.

The status of global socket memory pressure is updated when:
a) __sk_mem_raise_allocated():
enter: sk_memory_allocated(sk) > sysctl_mem[1]
leave: sk_memory_allocated(sk) <= sysctl_mem[0]
b) __sk_mem_reduce_allocated():
leave: sk_under_memory_pressure(sk) &&
sk_memory_allocated(sk) < sysctl_mem[0]
So the conditions of leaving global pressure are inconstant, which
may lead to the situation that one pressured net-memcg prevents the
global pressure from being cleared when there is indeed no global
pressure, thus the global constrains are still in effect unexpectedly
on the other sockets.
This patch fixes this by ignoring the net-memcg's pressure when
deciding whether should leave global memory pressure.
