b56de9f262 Merge tag 'perf-tools-fixes-for-v7.2-1-2026-07-25' into perf-tools-next
perf tools fixes for v7.2.

- Update header copies of kernel headers, including const.h, fs.h,
  perf_event.h, gfp_types.h, kvm.h, cpufeatures.h, rtnetlink.hp,

b2d4225695 tools/build: selftests: Remove some duplicate toolchain definitions
Try to remove some, but not all duplicate toolchain definitions. In
these instances, their makefiles already include
tools/scripts/Makefile.include which defines these in a consistent way.

STRIP is the only one that was set with an '=', but I don't think it
was significant so that difference can be dropped.

0af15f3057 selftests/bpf: Cover tracing implicit kfunc args
KF_IMPLICIT_ARGS kfuncs have a BPF-call prototype and a real kernel
target prototype. Add a tracing selftest that attaches fentry and fexit
programs to bpf_kfunc_implicit_arg(), runs a syscall BPF program that
calls it, and checks that the tracing context exposes both the explicit
argument and the implicit prog aux pointer.

6f59deb32e selftests/bpf: Cover negative buffer pointer offsets
Add verifier coverage for constant negative offsets on PTR_TO_TP_BUFFER
and PTR_TO_BUF pointers. Both programs adjust the buffer pointer by -8
and access it at offset zero, so the negative effective start must be
rejected at load time.

Switch the raw tracepoint writable attach checks from nbd_send_request
to bpf_testmod_test_writable_bare_tp, avoiding a dependency on the NBD
tracepoint. Keep the existing past-end case and add a case with a
negative var_off compensated by a positive instruction offset. The
effective start remains non-negative, so the program loads, but its
access end exceeds the writable context size and
bpf_raw_tracepoint_open() must return -EINVAL.

30581eda4a selftests/bpf: Adapt sockmap update error handling
Update sockmap_listen to accommodate the recent change in sockmap that
rejects unbound UDP sockets.

TCP: Reject unbound and bound (unless established or listening).
UDP: Accept only bound sockets.

While at it, migrate to ASSERT_* and enforce reverse xmas tree.

8a870967ca selftests/bpf: Cover pseudo-BTF ksym log masking
Add verifier_unpriv coverage for a raw socket-filter load of the
bpf_prog_active typed ksym. The test verifies that the unprivileged load
remains accepted and that the verbose verifier log prints the ldimm64
immediate as 0x0 instead of exposing a nonzero kernel address.

Add regression coverage for bpf_refcount_acquire() on graph-node-derived
pointers.

The rejected case passes a popped list node pointer directly to
bpf_refcount_acquire(), which must fail because the pointer carries a
non-zero fixed offset.

22a0cc10da selftests/bpf: don't modify the skb in the strparser parser prog
sockmap_parse_prog.c is attached as an SK_SKB stream parser and modifies
the skb: it calls bpf_skb_pull_data() and writes a byte into the packet.
A stream parser runs on strparser's message head and must not modify it.
A resize frees the frag_list segments strparser still tracks, leading to
a use-after-free.

Make the parser read-only. It only needs to return the message length,
which keeps it attaching once packet-modifying parsers are rejected.

edc5cb8b2b selftests/bpf: Add get_preempt_count() support for LoongArch
There is no LoongArch support for get_preempt_count() currently and its
fallback path always returns 0, just add it so that bpf_in_interrupt(),
bpf_in_nmi(), bpf_in_hardirq(), bpf_in_serving_softirq(), bpf_in_task()
work for LoongArch as well.

The latest kernels select CONFIG_THREAD_INFO_IN_TASK, it can just read
preempt_count from the thread_info which is embedded within task_struct.

With this patch, "./test_progs -t exe_ctx" passes on LoongArch.

33a971d549 selftests/bpf: Add LWT encap tests for skb metadata
Test that an LWT encapsulation does not silently corrupt XDP metadata
sitting in the skb headroom. Exercise all three LWT dispatch paths:

- BPF LWT xmit prog reserves headroom on the LWT .xmit redirect,
- mpls pushes an MPLS label on the LWT .xmit redirect,
- seg6 in encap mode runs on the LWT .input redirect,
- ioam6 encap inserts an IOAM Hop-by-Hop option on LWT .output redirect.

ea4e9c9d8b selftests/xsk: restore shared_umem after POLL_TXQ_FULL
POLL_TXQ_FULL temporarily disables shared_umem on TX to exercise the
TX timeout path in isolation.

With shared_umem enabled, TX setup expects RX UMEM to be initialized
first and fails with: "RX UMEM is not initialized before shared-UMEM TX
setup".

Save and restore shared_umem around POLL_TXQ_FULL execution, and restore
it on both success and pkt_stream_replace() failure paths.

Also add an in-code comment explaining why shared_umem is temporarily
disabled in this test.

This keeps timeout setup local and prevents cross-test state leakage.

483c1405f8 selftests/xsk: fix timeout thread harness sequencing
Prevent workers from running before XDP program attachment completes.
The previous ordering allowed races between worker startup and setup.

Attach XDP programs before entering traffic validation.

Remove SIGUSR1-based worker termination and use pthread_join() for
thread shutdown so blocking syscalls are not interrupted.

Use barriers only for dual-thread runs so participants match and
teardown ordering stays deterministic.

This removes setup/startup races and stabilizes harness sequencing.

b56cded131 selftests/xsk: make poll timeout mode explicit
Stop inferring timeout behavior from RX UMEM initialization state.
That ties timeout semantics to setup internals and obscures intent.

Use test_spec::poll_tmout as the explicit timeout-mode selector in
TX and RX paths.

In RX, treat poll timeout as expected only in timeout mode.
In TX, let send_pkts() own loop completion in non-timeout mode
and use __send_pkts() only for progress and timeout detection.

This makes timeout logic explicit and keeps control flow predictable.

644332f48f selftests/bpf: Add test for stale bounds on LSM retval context load
Add a verifier test that catches the stale-bounds issue fixed in the
previous patch. The test sets r6 = 0 to create known bounds, then loads
the LSM hook return value into r6 from the context. Without the fix,
the verifier intersects the retval range with the stale bounds and
incorrectly narrows r6 to a single value, pruning the fall-through
branch as dead code and missing the div-by-zero.

38ba6d43af selftests/bpf: Cover small conntrack opts error writes
Add a conntrack kfunc regression check for opts__sz values that do not
cover opts->error. The BPF program initializes opts->error with a guard
value, calls the lookup and allocation kfuncs with opts__sz set to
sizeof(opts->netns_id), and verifies that the guard is still intact
after the kfunc returns NULL.

Without the conntrack wrapper guard, the kfunc error path overwrites
that guard with -EINVAL even though the verifier checked only the first
four bytes of the options object.

Add a verifier regression test for a pointer spill whose high half is
cleaned dead while the low half remains live. Force checkpoint creation
with BPF_F_TEST_STATE_FREQ and assert the verifier log reaches the
checkpoint and the subsequent 32-bit fill before rejecting the partial fill
from a non-scalar spill.

a6ff26f360 selftests/bpf: Test cgroup link replace with BPF_F_PREORDER
Add a cgroup_preorder case that attaches a normal and a BPF_F_PREORDER
program to a cgroup (effective order [2, 1]), then replaces the normal
link's program via bpf_link_update() and checks the effective order
becomes [2, 3] — i.e. only the non-preorder slot changes. Without the
replace_effective_prog() fix the array is corrupted and the order is
wrong.

39799c6357 bpf: Allow type tag BTF records to succeed other modifier records
llvm commit [1] allowed attaching type tag records to modifier BTF
records. This is useful for using typedefs that encompass a base type
and a type tag, e.g.:

typedef struct rbtree __arena rbtree_t;

Modify btf_check_type_tags() so that it allows this sequence of records.
The function now only checks for record loops in BTF modifier record
chains. Rename to btf_check_modifier_chain_length to reflect this.

Also expand the BTF modifier traversal code to take into account that
type record can be interleaved with other modifier records. In effect
this means traversing all modifiers to collect the type tags.

Also modify existing selftests to now accept modifier records (const,
typedef) that point to type tag records.

6af8971d91 selftests/bpf: drop the unused kTLS program from test_sockmap
With the sockmap + kTLS tests gone, the BPF-side support in test_sockmap
is dead: the tls_sock_map map and bpf_prog3 (which redirected skbs into
it) are no longer referenced. Remove them, along with the now-unused
bpf_write_pass() helper.

bpf_prog3 was progs[2], so renumber the progs[] users in test_sockmap.c:
the sockops program drops to progs[2] and the sk_msg tx programs to
progs[3..7]. Shrink the map/prog arrays from 9 to 8 and drop the
tls_sock_map entry (the last one) from map_names[] to match.

The combination of sockmap and TLS is no longer supported - installing
the TLS ULP on a sockmap socket (and vice versa) is now rejected. Remove

e4287bf34f selftests/bpf: Work around llvm stack overflow in crypto progs
clang 23 fails to build crypto_bench.c and crypto_sanity.c with
"BPF stack limit exceeded". The progs fill a 408-byte
bpf_crypto_params on the stack and pass it to bpf_crypto_ctx_create().
clang 23 copies the byte-aligned cipher/key globals into it one byte at
a time through the stack, and keeps more than one copy of the struct
around. Together that blows the 512-byte limit.

Align the source arrays to 8 bytes so the copy is word-wise, and move
params off the stack into a static .bss var. static keeps it out of the
skeleton, where bpf_crypto_params is an incomplete type. Either change
alone is not enough.

close to U32_MAX, which overflows the start + len bounds check. The sk_msg

1f32c0d619 selftsets/bpf: Retry map update on helper_fill_hashmap()
helper_fill_hashmap() is used also on parallel and stress map tests.
Those are consistently failing with ENOMEM on kernels built with
PREEMPT_RT if preallocation is disabled. The failure is transient and
only called by the memory cache refill running in a preemptible
irq_work, which can easily stall in case of contention.

Use a retriable update in those cases to handle transient ENOMEM and
make the test more stable also on PREEMPT_RT.
Also fix the sign of the value printed in case of error (strerror()
expects a positive errno while updates return it negative).

584f3b7a35 selftests/bpf: Use common CFLAGS for urandom_read
The urandom_read helper and its shared library are built with $(CLANG)
directly rather than through the normal selftest $(CC) rules.

The CFLAGS variable can contain specific flags only for $(CC) but might
be imcompatible for $(CLANG) and those flags are not necessarily valid
for the clang-only urandom_read build.

Split the BPF selftest local flags into COMMON_CFLAGS and append them to
CFLAGS for the normal build path. Use COMMON_CFLAGS directly for
urandom_read and liburandom_read.so, while still filtering out -static as
before.

7bfb93e347 selftests/bpf: Add arena direct-value one-past-end reject test
BPF_MAP_TYPE_ARENA supports direct-value pseudo loads, but unlike array
maps its map value_size is zero and the valid direct-value range is the
arena mmap size, max_entries * PAGE_SIZE.

Commit 3ac1a467e3 ("bpf: Fix off-by-one boundary validation in arena
direct-value access") fixed arena_map_direct_value_addr() to reject an
offset exactly at the end of the arena mapping. Add a regression test
that loads a BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_VALUE with off == arena_size and verifies
that the verifier rejects it with the expected offset in the log.

This is intentionally kept as a userspace raw-instruction test. I tried
expressing the same BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_VALUE + off == arena_size case in
verifier_arena.c with inline assembly. The only form that produces the
desired instruction bytes uses __imm_addr(arena), but that emits
R_BPF_64_NODYLD32, which the libbpf/bpftool link step rejects. Other
register, immediate, and memory constraints either fail in the BPF
backend or lower to a normal R_BPF_64_64 load followed by an ALU add,
which does not exercise arena_map_direct_value_addr() with the boundary
offset in the second ldimm64 slot.

A legacy test_verifier fixture can express the raw instruction directly,
but it needs arena map creation, mmap, and fixup plumbing in the legacy
runner. That is more intrusive than the small prog_tests raw-instruction
test.

Use the userspace raw-instruction test, following the existing selftests
pattern used for direct map-value pseudo loads, so insns[1].imm can be
set to arena_size precisely.

cec8423776 selftests/bpf: Add retval test for bool and errno LSM cgroup hooks
Add test to check the return value when a BPF program exits with 0 for
a boolean and an errno LSM hook.

For each hook, two BPF programs are attached. The first program returns
0 without calling bpf_set_retval() to exercise the return value translation
logic, while the second program reads the retval via bpf_get_retval().

f0eff94d07 selftests/bpf: Cover generic devmap egress last-dst rewrite
Strengthen xdp_veth_egress to check that each destination observes the
MAC selected for its own egress ifindex, instead of only checking that
the observed MAC differs from a single magic value.

Add a generic XDP last-destination test where an earlier destination does
not have a devmap egress program while the final destination does. This
covers the case where the final destination runs on the original skb and
could otherwise rewrite packet data still shared with an earlier cloned
skb.

Use deterministic DEVMAP_HASH keys for the egress map so the intended
last destination is stable. Initialize the result map with a sentinel
value and check that store_mac_1 overwrites it before checking that the
earlier destination did not observe the MAC written by the final
destination.
