Google have requested that factory calibration can be performed by
repair shops. These repair shops only have access to the standard
"user" kernel, which does not include debugfs.

Another fairly mixed bag of small SDCA fixes/improvements. Fix one DisCo
property that was treated as mandatory but is actually not present in
the first version of the specification. Fix the counting of routes for
SU/GE DAPM widgets, this currently makes assumptions that are not
guaranteed to be true which can result in too many/few DAPM routes.
Then finally a couple improvements to the volume controls, simplify the
mapping between ALSA and SDCA volumes and pull the volume stuff back
into the SDCA code. It just wasn't sitting right with me that it was
being handled in the ASoC core given it is unlikely to ever see any
reuse outside of SDCA.
Current soc-compress.c clears symmetric_rate, but it clears rate only,
not clear other symmetric_channels/sample_bits.

This feature was added when v3.7 kernel [1], and there was only
symmetric_rate, no symmetric_channels/sample_bits in that timing.
symmetric_channels/sample_bits were added in v3.14 [2],
but I guess it didn't notice that soc-compress.c is updating symmetric_xxx.
We are clearing symmetry_xxx by soc_pcm_set_dai_params(), but is soc-pcm.c
local function. Makes it global function and clear symmetry_xxx by it.

Because struct snd_soc_dapm_context is soc-dapm framework specific, user
driver don't need to access its member directly, we would like to hide
them. struct snd_soc_dapm_context will be removed from header in the
future.
Current card/component are using dapm_context instance. But it will be
moved to soc-dapm.c, and we can use will be only pointer. Makes it to
pointer.

Add a macro SND_SOC_BYTES_E_ACC() to allow the access permission flags
to be set. This is the same as SND_SOC_BYTES_E() but with an extra
argument for the access flags.
This will be used by the cs35l56.c driver to create a read-only
volatile byte control. It's preferable to avoid custom control macros
in codec drivers. Code maintenance is easier if all control macros are
defined together in soc.h.
This commit only creates this one macro that is actually going to be used.

Both are calling lock (a), find component and remove it (b), and
unlock (c). The big diff is whether use driver name for lookup() or
not (X).
Merge these into snd_soc_unregister_component_by_driver() (B), and

We are using dummy component/dlc, but didn't have its check funciton.
This patch adds it.
Since commit e894efef9a ("ASoC: core: add support to card rebind")
there is a support for card rebind. The support is only partial though.
Let's consider the following scenarios both of which aim to enumerate a
sound card:
1)

snd_soc_add_component(comp1);
For the sake of simplicity, let comp1 be the last dependency needed for
the card1 to enumerate.
Case 1) will end up succeeding whereas 2) is a certain fail -
snd_soc_bind_card() does not honor unbind_card_list so even a non-fatal
return code of EPROBE_DEFER will cause the card to collapse. Given the
typical usecase of platform_device serving as a card->dev and its
probe() ending with:

To allow for card registration to be deferred while being friendly
towards existing users of devm_snd_soc_register_card(), add new
card->devres_dev field, and devm_xxx() variants for card registration:

devm_snd_soc_bind_card() (internal)
In essence, if requested, devm_snd_soc_bind_card() replaces
snd_soc_bind_card(). The rebind procedure takes care of destroying
old devres before attempting the new bind. This makes sure nothing is
left hanging if binding fails and card becomes unbound but is still
registered to the ASoC framework.
To allow snd_soc_bind_card() to be reused by the deferrable friends,
move 'client_mutex' locking to the function's callers and select between
devm_xxx and non-devm_xxx variants of snd_soc_bind_card() based on
card->devres_dev.
On top of the feature, the refactoring brings two benefits:
a) single lock/unlock of 'client_mutex' in snd_soc_add_component()
instead of ambiguous unlock and immediate lock in
snd_soc_try_rebind_card()
b) all unbind_card_list manipulations done under 'client_mutex'

The only difference between snd_soc_info_volsw() and
snd_soc_info_volsw_range() is that the later will not force a 2
value control to be of type integer if the name ends in "Volume".
The kernel currently contains no users of snd_soc_info_volsw_range()
that would return a boolean control with this code, so the risk is
quite low and it seems appropriate that it should contain volume
control detection. So remove snd_soc_info_volsw_range() and point its
users at snd_soc_info_volsw().

This reverts commit 9bdd10d57a ("ASoC: ops: Shift tested values in
snd_soc_put_volsw() by +min"), and makes some additional related
updates.
There are two ways the platform_max could be interpreted; the maximum
register value, or the maximum value the control can be set to. The
patch moved from treating the value as a control value to a register
one. When the patch was applied it was technically correct as
snd_soc_limit_volume() also used the register interpretation. However,
even then most of the other usages treated platform_max as a
control value, and snd_soc_limit_volume() has since been updated to
also do so in commit fb9ad24485 ("ASoC: ops: add correct range
check for limiting volume"). That patch however, missed updating
snd_soc_put_volsw() back to the control interpretation, and fixing
snd_soc_info_volsw_range(). The control interpretation makes more
sense as limiting is typically done from the machine driver, so it is
appropriate to use the customer facing representation rather than the
internal codec representation. Update all the code to consistently use
this interpretation of platform_max.
Finally, also add some comments to the soc_mixer_control struct to
hopefully avoid further patches switching between the two approaches.

Re-implement SOC_DOUBLE_VALUE() in terms of SOC_DOUBLE_S_VALUE().
SOC_DOUBLE_S_VALUE() already had a minimum value so add this to
SOC_DOUBLE_VALUE as well, this allows replacement of several hard coded
value entries. Likewise update SOC_SINGLE_VALUE to match, which allows
replacement of even more hard coded values.

Current ASoC is using dai_link->dai_fmt to set DAI format for both
CPU/Codec. But because it is using same settings, and
SND_SOC_DAIFMT_CLOCK_PROVIDER is flipped for CPU, we can't set both
CPU/Codec as clock consumer, for example.
To solve this issue, this patch enable to use extra format for each
DAI which can keep compatibility with legacy system,
1. SND_SOC_DAIFMT_FORMAT_MASK
2. SND_SOC_DAIFMT_CLOCK
3. SND_SOC_DAIFMT_INV

I have been wondering why DPCM needs special flag (= dpcm_playback/capture)
to use it. Below is the history why it was added to ASoC.
(A) In beginning, there was no dpcm_xxx flag on ASoC.
It checks channels_min for DPCM, same as current non-DPCM.
Let's name it as "validation check" here.

(B) commit 1e9de42f43 ("ASoC: dpcm: Explicitly set BE DAI link supported
stream directions") force to use dpcm_xxx flag on DPCM. According to
this commit log, this is because "Some BE dummy DAI doesn't set
channels_min for playback/capture". But we don't know which DAI is it,
and not know why it can't/don't have channels_min. Let's name it as
"no_chan_DAI" here. According to the code and git-log, it is used as
DCPM-BE and is CPU DAI. I think the correct solution was set
channels_min on "no_chan_DAI" side, not update ASoC framework side. But
everything is under smoke today.

a contradiction here. I think correct solution was update Sound Card
side instead of ASoC framework. Sound Card side will be updated to
handle this issue later (commit 25612477d2 ("ASoC: soc-dai: set

This (C) patch should have broken "no_chan_DAI" which doesn't have
channels_min, but there was no such report during this 4 years.
Possibilities case are as follows
- No one is using "no_chan_DAI"
- "no_chan_DAI" is no longer exist : was removed ?
- "no_chan_DAI" is no longer exist : has channels_min ?
Because of these history, this dpcm_xxx is unneeded flag today. But because
we have been used it for 10 years since (B), it may have been used
differently. For example some DAI available both playback/capture, but it
set dpcm_playback flag only, in this case dpcm_xxx flag is used as
availability limitation. We can use playback_only flag instead in this
case, but it is very difficult to find such DAI today.
Let's add grace time to remove dpcm_playback/capture flag.
This patch don't use dpcm_xxx flag anymore, and indicates warning to use
xxx_only flag if both playback/capture were available but using only
one of dpcm_xxx flag, and not using xxx_only flag.

The struct snd_soc_pcm_runtime has a flex array of snd_soc_component
objects at its end, and the size is kept in num_components field.
We can add __counted_by() annotation for compiler's assistance to
catch array overflows.
A slight additional change is the assignment of rtd->components[];
the array counter has to be incremented at first for avoiding
false-positive reports from compilers.
Also, the allocation size of snd_soc_pcm_runtime is cleaned up with
the standard struct_size() helper, too.

Several ASoC functions receive pointers to data which is not modified,
e.g. pointers to 'snd_soc_dai', 'snd_soc_pcm_runtime',
'snd_pcm_hw_params' and 'snd_soc_dai_link'.
All these pointers can be made as a pointer to const. This makes code
safer, serves as clear annotation of function's intentions (no ownership
passed to the function, no modifications) and allows putting pointed
structures in rodata (if ever applicable).

A common pattern in sound drivers is getting 'struct snd_soc_pcm_runtime'
from 'struct snd_pcm_substream' opaque pointer private_data field with
snd_soc_substream_to_rtd(). However 'private_data' appears in several
other structures as well, including 'struct snd_compr_stream'. The
field might not hold the same type for every structure, although seems
the case at least for 'struct snd_compr_stream', so code can easily make
a mistake by using macro for wrong structure passed as argument.
Switch from macro to inline function, so such mistake will be build-time
detectable.
