e1a9d3cc11 tcp: initialize standalone TCP-AO response padding
tcp_v4_send_ack() and tcp_v6_send_response() construct standalone TCP
responses with TCP-AO options.  The option length carries the actual MAC
length, but the TCP header length includes the option rounded up to a
four-byte boundary.

tcp_ao_hash_hdr() writes the MAC only.  Thus, when the MAC length is not
four-byte aligned, the one to three bytes after the MAC are left
uninitialized and may be transmitted.  For the normal TCP-AO hashing
mode, those bytes also have to be initialized before computing the MAC.

Initialize only the alignment padding in the TCP-AO branches, before
hashing the header.  Use TCPOPT_NOP, as in the normal TCP-AO output path.
This avoids adding work to non-AO TCP responses while preserving a valid
authenticated header.

2c1931a811 tcp: fix TIME_WAIT socket reference leak on PSP policy failure
Release the TIME_WAIT socket reference and jump to discard_it
upon PSP policy failure in both IPv4 and IPv6 receive paths.
This prevents a memory leak of tcp_tw_bucket structures.

658eb69654 tcp: rehash onto different local ECMP path on retransmit timeout
Currently sk_rethink_txhash() re-rolls the socket's txhash on RTO, PLB,
and spurious-retransmission events, but the cached route is reused and
the new hash is not propagated into the ECMP path selection logic.  Two
changes are needed to make rehash select a different local ECMP path:

1. Add __sk_dst_reset() alongside sk_rethink_txhash() in
   tcp_write_timeout(), tcp_rcv_spurious_retrans(), and
   tcp_plb_check_rehash() so the cached dst is invalidated and the
   next transmit triggers a fresh route lookup.

2. Set fl6->mp_hash from sk_txhash (or tcp_rsk(req)->txhash for
   SYN/ACK retransmits and syncookies) in tcp_v6_connect(),
   inet6_sk_rebuild_header(), inet6_csk_route_req(),
   inet6_csk_route_socket(), tcp_v6_send_response(), and
   cookie_v6_check() so fib6_select_path() picks a path based on the
   new hash.

The mp_hash override only applies to fib_multipath_hash_policy 0 (the
default L3 policy).  Its hash includes the flow label, but that is 0 by
default -- np->flow_label is unset, and auto_flowlabels only computes
the on-wire label later, per packet -- so flows to the same peer share
one local path.  Keying the hash on sk_txhash makes the local path
per-connection and lets a rehash re-select it.  Policies 1-3 are left
unchanged.

The mp_hash assignment is factored into a small helper,
ip6_ecmp_set_mp_hash(), shared by inet6_csk_route_req(),
inet6_csk_route_socket(), tcp_v6_connect(), inet6_sk_rebuild_header(),
tcp_v6_send_response(), and cookie_v6_check().  It applies
(txhash >> 1) ?: 1 for policy 0 (the >> 1 keeps mp_hash in the 31-bit
range; ?: 1 keeps it non-zero, since 0 would fall back to
rt6_multipath_hash()).  inet6_csk_route_socket() calls it only for
sk_protocol == IPPROTO_TCP so that non-TCP callers (e.g., L2TP via
inet6_csk_xmit) fall through to rt6_multipath_hash() and retain their
existing flow-key-based ECMP behavior.

tcp_v6_send_response() also sets mp_hash from the response txhash so
that a control packet (a RST from the full socket, or an ACK from a
time-wait socket) selects the same local ECMP nexthop as the
connection's txhash rather than falling back to the flow hash.  The
time-wait socket's tw_txhash is copied from sk_txhash when the
connection enters TIME_WAIT, so it reflects any rehash that occurred.

Setting mp_hash explicitly is necessary because the default ECMP hash
derives from fl6->flowlabel via np->flow_label, which is not updated
from sk_txhash (REPFLOW is off by default).  ip6_make_flowlabel()
cannot help either, as it runs after the route lookup.

As a consequence, for policy 0 the local ECMP path of an IPv6 TCP
flow follows sk_txhash even when fl6->flowlabel is non-zero, e.g. a
reflected (REPFLOW) or explicitly set (IPV6_FLOWLABEL_MGR) flow
label.  This is intentional: only local path selection changes, so
rehash can recover from a failed path; the on-wire flow label is
unchanged.

sk_set_txhash() is moved before ip6_dst_lookup_flow() in
tcp_v6_connect() so the initial ECMP path is selected by the same
txhash that subsequent route rebuilds will use.  This avoids
unintended path changes when the cached dst is naturally invalidated
(e.g., by PMTU discovery or route changes).

The rehash sites (tcp_write_timeout(), tcp_plb_check_rehash(), and
tcp_rcv_spurious_retrans()) call __sk_rethink_txhash_reset_dst(),
which re-rolls the txhash and, when it changed, drops the cached dst
so the next transmit re-runs route selection.  The dst reset is
guarded by sk->sk_family == AF_INET6 since IPv4 ECMP does not
currently use sk_txhash for path selection.  For IPv4-mapped IPv6
sockets this produces a redundant dst reset on a cold path
(RTO/PLB); the subsequent IPv4 route lookup returns the same result.
The helper is deliberately separate from sk_rethink_txhash() itself:
dst_negative_advice() calls sk_rethink_txhash() before its own dst op,
so resetting the dst inside sk_rethink_txhash() would skip that op
(e.g. rt6_remove_exception_rt()).

For syncookies, cookie_init_sequence() computes the cookie value
before route_req() and sets txhash so the SYN-ACK selects the same
ECMP path that cookie_v6_check() will use when the full socket is
created.  cookie_tcp_reqsk_init() derives txhash from the cookie so
the full socket's ECMP path matches the SYN-ACK.  Both the SYN-ACK
assignment in tcp_conn_request() and the full-socket assignment in
cookie_tcp_reqsk_init() set txhash from the cookie for IPv4 and IPv6
alike.  On IPv6 this drives ECMP path selection; on IPv4, which does
not use sk_txhash for ECMP, it only affects TX-queue selection.  That
selection scales the hash by its high bits (reciprocal_scale()), which
are uniform in the keyed secure_tcp_syn_cookie() output -- the MSS index
only perturbs the low bits -- so the queue distribution matches
net_tx_rndhash().

cookie_init_sequence() is split from the former version that also
called tcp_synq_overflow() and incremented SYNCOOKIESSENT; those
side effects are now in cookie_record_sent(), called after
route_req() succeeds so they are not bumped when route_req() fails.
cookie_record_sent() is guarded by CONFIG_SYN_COOKIES to
match the guard on tcp_synq_overflow().  route_req() receives 0 as
tw_isn for the syncookie path so that tcp_v6_init_req() still saves
ireq->pktopts for REPFLOW flowlabel reflection and IPv6 cmsg
options.  The ecn_ok clear for syncookies without timestamps stays
after tcp_ecn_create_request() so it takes precedence.

1bbf0ced1d tcp: fix stale per-CPU tcp_tw_isn leak enabling ISN prediction
Blamed commit moved the TIME_WAIT-derived ISN from the skb control
block to a per-CPU variable, assuming the value would always be consumed
by tcp_conn_request() for the same packet that wrote it. That assumption
is violated by multiple drop paths between the producer
(__this_cpu_write(tcp_tw_isn, isn) in tcp_v{4,6}_rcv()) and the consumer
(tcp_conn_request()):

 - min_ttl / min_hopcount check
 - xfrm policy check
 - tcp_inbound_hash() MD5/AO mismatch
 - tcp_filter() eBPF/SO_ATTACH_FILTER drop
 - th->syn && th->fin discard in tcp_rcv_state_process() TCP_LISTEN
 - psp_sk_rx_policy_check() in tcp_v{4,6}_do_rcv()
 - tcp_checksum_complete() in tcp_v{4,6}_do_rcv()
 - tcp_v{4,6}_cookie_check() returning NULL

When a packet is dropped on any of these paths, tcp_tw_isn is left set.

The next SYN processed on the same CPU then consumes the non zero value in
tcp_conn_request(), receiving a potentially predictable ISN.

This patch moves back tcp_tw_isn to skb->cb[], getting rid of the per-cpu
variable.

Note that tcp_v{4,6}_fill_cb() do not set it.

Very litle impact on overall code size/complexity:

ecddc523cf tcp: Fix dst leak in tcp_v6_connect().
If a socket is bound to a wildcard address, tcp_v[46]_connect()
updates it with a non-wildcard address based on the route lookup.

After bhash2 was introduced in the cited commit, we must call
inet_bhash2_update_saddr() to update the bhash2 entry as well.

If inet_bhash2_update_saddr() fails, we must release the refcount
for dst by ip_route_connect() or ip6_dst_lookup_flow().

While tcp_v4_connect() calls ip_rt_put() in the error path,
tcp_v6_connect() does not call dst_release().

Let's call dst_release() when inet_bhash2_update_saddr() fails
in tcp_v6_connect().

c8f7244c8c tcp: tcp_child_process() related UAF
tcp_child_process( .. child ...) currently calls sock_put(child).

Unfortunately @child (named @nsk in callers) can be used after
this point to send a RST packet.

To fix this UAF, I remove the sock_put() from tcp_child_process()
and let the callers handle this after it is safe.

Remove @rsk variable in tcp_v4_do_rcv() and change tcp_v6_do_rcv()
so that both functions look the same.

Pull vfs i_ino updates from Christian Brauner:
 "For historical reasons, the inode->i_ino field is an unsigned long,
  which means that it's 32 bits on 32 bit architectures. This has caused
  a number of filesystems to implement hacks to hash a 64-bit identifier
  into a 32-bit field, and deprives us of a universal identifier field
  for an inode.

  This changes the inode->i_ino field from an unsigned long to a u64.
  This shouldn't make any material difference on 64-bit hosts, but
  32-bit hosts will see struct inode grow by at least 4 bytes. This
  could have effects on slabcache sizes and field alignment.

  The bulk of the changes are to format strings and tracepoints, since
  the kernel itself doesn't care that much about the i_ino field. The
  first patch changes some vfs function arguments, so check that one out
  carefully.

  With this change, we may be able to shrink some inode structures. For
  instance, struct nfs_inode has a fileid field that holds the 64-bit
  inode number. With this set of changes, that field could be
  eliminated. I'd rather leave that sort of cleanups for later just to
  keep this simple"

dc9902bbd4 tcp: use WRITE_ONCE() for tsoffset in tcp_v6_connect()
Commit dd23c9f1e8 ("tcp: annotate data-races around tp->tsoffset")
updated do_tcp_getsockopt() to read tp->tsoffset with READ_ONCE()
for TCP_TIMESTAMP because another CPU may change it concurrently.

tcp_v6_connect() still stores tp->tsoffset with a plain write. That
store runs under lock_sock() via inet_stream_connect(), but the socket
lock does not serialize a concurrent getsockopt(TCP_TIMESTAMP) from
another task sharing the socket.

Use WRITE_ONCE() for the tcp_v6_connect() store so the connect-time
writer matches the lockless TCP_TIMESTAMP reader. This also makes the
IPv6 path consistent with tcp_v4_connect().

0fe27e5985 net: change sock.sk_ino and sock_i_ino() to u64
inode->i_ino is being converted to a u64. sock.sk_ino (which caches the
inode number) must also be widened to avoid truncation on 32-bit
architectures where unsigned long is only 32 bits.

Change sk_ino from unsigned long to u64, and update the return type
of sock_i_ino() to match. Fix all format strings that print the
result of sock_i_ino() (%lu -> %llu), and widen the intermediate
variables and function parameters in the diag modules that were
using int to hold the inode number.

Note that the UAPI socket diag structures (inet_diag_msg.idiag_inode,
unix_diag_msg.udiag_ino, etc.) are all __u32 and cannot be changed
without breaking the ABI. The assignments to those fields will
silently truncate, which is the existing behavior.

165573e41f tcp: secure_seq: add back ports to TS offset
This reverts 28ee1b746f ("secure_seq: downgrade to per-host timestamp offsets")

tcp_tw_recycle went away in 2017.

Zhouyan Deng reported off-path TCP source port leakage via
SYN cookie side-channel that can be fixed in multiple ways.

One of them is to bring back TCP ports in TS offset randomization.

As a bonus, we perform a single siphash() computation
to provide both an ISN and a TS offset.

and should be made static so that the compiler does not need
to put an out of line copy of them.

and use instead @net_header_len.

Move @net_header_len close to @queue_xmit for data locality
as both are used in TCP tx fast path.

858d2a4f67 tcp: fix potential race in tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock()
Code in tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock() after the call to tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock()
is done too late.

After tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock(), the child socket is already visible
from TCP ehash table and other cpus might use it.

Since newinet->pinet6 is still pointing to the listener ipv6_pinfo
bad things can happen as syzbot found.

Move the problematic code in tcp_v6_mapped_child_init()
and call this new helper from tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() before
the ehash insertion.

This allows the removal of one tcp_sync_mss(), since
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() will call it with the correct
context.

inet->cork.fl.u.ip6 structure.

ed9b70040d tcp: reduce tcp sockets size by one cache line
By default, when a kmem_cache is created with SLAB_TYPESAFE_BY_RCU,
slub has to use extra storage for the freelist pointer after each
object, because slub assumes that any bit in the object
can be used by RCU readers.

Because proto_register() is also using SLAB_HWCACHE_ALIGN,
this forces slub to use one extra cache line per object.

We can instead put the slub freelist anywhere in the object,
granted the concurrent RCU readers are not supposed to
use the pointer value.

Add a new (struct sock)sk_freeptr field, in an union
with sk_rcu: No RCU readers would need to look at sk_rcu,
which is only used at free phase.

08dfe37023 tcp: introduce icsk->icsk_keepalive_timer
sk->sk_timer has been used for TCP keepalives.

Keepalive timers are not in fast path, we want to use sk->sk_timer
storage for retransmit timers, for better cache locality.

Create icsk->icsk_keepalive_timer and change keepalive
code to no longer use sk->sk_timer.

Added space is reclaimed in the following patch.

This includes changes to MPTCP, which was also using sk_timer.

Alias icsk->mptcp_tout_timer and icsk->icsk_keepalive_timer
for inet_sk_diag_fill() sake.

449f68f8ff net: Convert proto callbacks from sockaddr to sockaddr_unsized
Convert struct proto pre_connect(), connect(), bind(), and bind_add()
callback function prototypes from struct sockaddr to struct sockaddr_unsized.
This does not change per-implementation use of sockaddr for passing around
an arbitrarily sized sockaddr struct. Those will be addressed in future
patches.

Additionally removes the no longer referenced struct sockaddr from
include/net/inet_common.h.

No binary changes expected.

Make tcp-md5 use the MD5 library API (added in 6.18) instead of the
crypto_ahash API.  This is much simpler and also more efficient:

- The library API just operates on struct md5_ctx.  Just allocate this
  struct on the stack instead of using a pool of pre-allocated
  crypto_ahash and ahash_request objects.

- The library API accepts standard pointers and doesn't require
  scatterlists.  So, for hashing the headers just use an on-stack buffer
  instead of a pool of pre-allocated kmalloc'ed scratch buffers.

- The library API never fails.  Therefore, checking for MD5 hashing
  errors is no longer necessary.  Update tcp_v4_md5_hash_skb(),
  tcp_v6_md5_hash_skb(), tcp_v4_md5_hash_hdr(), tcp_v6_md5_hash_hdr(),
  tcp_md5_hash_key(), tcp_sock_af_ops::calc_md5_hash, and
  tcp_request_sock_ops::calc_md5_hash to return void instead of int.

- The library API provides direct access to the MD5 code, eliminating
  unnecessary overhead such as indirect function calls and scatterlist
  management.  Microbenchmarks of tcp_v4_md5_hash_skb() on x86_64 show a
  speedup from 7518 to 7041 cycles (6% fewer) with skb->len == 1440, or
  from 1020 to 678 cycles (33% fewer) with skb->len == 140.

Since tcp_sigpool_hash_skb_data() can no longer be used, add a function
tcp_md5_hash_skb_data() which is specialized to MD5.  Of course, to the
extent that this duplicates any code, it's well worth it.

To preserve the existing behavior of TCP-MD5 support being disabled when
the kernel is booted with "fips=1", make tcp_md5_do_add() check
fips_enabled itself.  Previously it relied on the error from
crypto_alloc_ahash("md5") being bubbled up.  I don't know for sure that
this is actually needed, but this preserves the existing behavior.

Tested with bidirectional TCP-MD5, both IPv4 and IPv6, between a kernel
that includes this commit and a kernel that doesn't include this commit.

(Side note: please don't use TCP-MD5!  It's cryptographically weak.  But
as long as Linux supports it, it might as well be implemented properly.)

  2. __alignof__(struct udp_sock) is 64 due to ____cacheline_aligned
     of struct numa_drop_counters

  3. in raw6_sock, struct numa_drop_counters is placed before
     struct ipv6_pinfo

.  struct ipv6_pinfo is 136 bytes, but the last cache line is
only used by ipv6_fl_list:

The protocol can work in multiple modes including tunneling.
But I'm mostly interested in using it as TLS replacement because
of its superior offload characteristics. So this patch does three
things:

 - it adds "core" PSP code
   PSP is offload-centric, and requires some additional care and
   feeding, so first chunk of the code exposes device info.
   This part can be reused by PSP implementations in xfrm, tunneling etc.

 - TCP integration TLS style
   Reuse some of the existing concepts from TLS offload, such as
   attaching crypto state to a socket, marking skbs as "decrypted",
   egress validation. PSP does not prescribe key exchange protocols.
   To use PSP as a more efficient TLS offload we intend to perform
   a TLS handshake ("inline" in the same TCP connection) and negotiate
   switching to PSP based on capabilities of both endpoints.
   This is also why I'm not including a software implementation.
   Nobody would use it in production, software TLS is faster,
   it has larger crypto records.

 - mlx5 implementation
   That's mostly other people's work, not 100% sure those folks
   consider it ready hence the RFC in the title. But it works :)

e97269257f net: psp: update the TCP MSS to reflect PSP packet overhead
PSP eats 40B of header space. Adjust MSS appropriately.

We can either modify tcp_mtu_to_mss() / tcp_mss_to_mtu()
or reuse icsk_ext_hdr_len. The former option is more TCP
specific and has runtime overhead. The latter is a bit
of a hack as PSP is not an ext_hdr. If one squints hard
enough, UDP encap is just a more practical version of
IPv6 exthdr, so go with the latter. Happy to change.

659a2899a5 tcp: add datapath logic for PSP with inline key exchange
Add validation points and state propagation to support PSP key
exchange inline, on TCP connections. The expectation is that
application will use some well established mechanism like TLS
handshake to establish a secure channel over the connection and
if both endpoints are PSP-capable - exchange and install PSP keys.
Because the connection can existing in PSP-unsecured and PSP-secured
state we need to make sure that there are no race conditions or
retransmission leaks.

On Tx - mark packets with the skb->decrypted bit when PSP key
is at the enqueue time. Drivers should only encrypt packets with
this bit set. This prevents retransmissions getting encrypted when
original transmission was not. Similarly to TLS, we'll use
sk->sk_validate_xmit_skb to make sure PSP skbs can't "escape"
via a PSP-unaware device without being encrypted.

On Rx - validation is done under socket lock. This moves the validation
point later than xfrm, for example. Please see the documentation patch
for more details on the flow of securing a connection, but for
the purpose of this patch what's important is that we want to
enforce the invariant that once connection is secured any skb
in the receive queue has been encrypted with PSP.

Add GRO and coalescing checks to prevent PSP authenticated data from
being combined with cleartext data, or data with non-matching PSP
state. On Rx, check skb's with psp_skb_coalesce_diff() at points
before psp_sk_rx_policy_check(). After skb's are policy checked and on
the socket receive queue, skb_cmp_decrypted() is sufficient for
checking for coalescable PSP state. On Tx, tcp_write_collapse_fence()
should be called when transitioning a socket into PSP Tx state to
prevent data sent as cleartext from being coalesced with PSP
encapsulated data.

This change only adds the validation points, for ease of review.
Subsequent change will add the ability to install keys, and flesh
the enforcement logic out

3cae34274c tcp: accecn: AccECN negotiation
Accurate ECN negotiation parts based on the specification:
  https://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-tcpm-accurate-ecn-28.txt

Accurate ECN is negotiated using ECE, CWR and AE flags in the
TCP header. TCP falls back into using RFC3168 ECN if one of the
ends supports only RFC3168-style ECN.

The AccECN negotiation includes reflecting IP ECN field value
seen in SYN and SYNACK back using the same bits as negotiation
to allow responding to SYN CE marks and to detect ECN field
mangling. CE marks should not occur currently because SYN=1
segments are sent with Non-ECT in IP ECN field (but proposal
exists to remove this restriction).

Reflecting SYN IP ECN field in SYNACK is relatively simple.
Reflecting SYNACK IP ECN field in the final/third ACK of
the handshake is more challenging. Linux TCP code is not well
prepared for using the final/third ACK a signalling channel
which makes things somewhat complicated here.

tcp_ecn sysctl can be used to select the highest ECN variant
(Accurate ECN, ECN, No ECN) that is attemped to be negotiated and
requested for incoming connection and outgoing connection:

1. The socket is yet in TCP bind buckets, making it reachable for

   late FIN/ACK/RST replies.

2. There is at least one code path, where tcp_done() is called before
   sending RST [kudos to Bob for investigation]. This is a case of
   a server, that finished sending its data and just called close().

  Note the signed RSTs later in the dump - those are sent by the server
  when the fin-wait socket gets removed from hash buckets, by
  the listener socket.

Instead of destroying AO/MD5 info and their keys in inet_csk_destroy_sock(),
slightly delay it until the actual socket .sk_destruct(). As shutdown'ed
socket can yet send non-data replies, they should be signed in order for
the peer to process them. Now it also matches how AO/MD5 gets destructed
for TIME-WAIT sockets (in tcp_twsk_destructor()).

This seems optimal for TCP-MD5, while for TCP-AO it seems to have an
open problem: once RST get sent and socket gets actually destructed,
there is no information on the initial sequence numbers. So, in case
this last RST gets lost in the network, the server's listener socket
won't be able to properly sign another RST. Nothing in RFC 1122
prescribes keeping any local state after non-graceful reset.
Luckily, BGP are known to use keep alive(s).

While the issue is quite minor/cosmetic, these days monitoring network
counters is a common practice and getting invalid signed segments from
a trusted BGP peer can get customers worried.

This is because in tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock (and the IPv4 counterpart), when
exiting upon error, inet_csk_prepare_forced_close() and tcp_done() need
to be called. They make sure the newsk will end up being correctly
free'd.

tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() makes this very clear by having the put_and_exit
label that takes care of things. So, this patch here makes sure
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock and tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock have similar
error-handling and thus fixes the leak for TCP-AO.

7051b54fb5 tcp: Remove sk->sk_prot->orphan_count.
TCP tracks the number of orphaned (SOCK_DEAD but not yet destructed)
sockets in tcp_orphan_count.

In some code that was shared with DCCP, tcp_orphan_count is referenced
via sk->sk_prot->orphan_count.

Let's reference tcp_orphan_count directly.

inet_csk_prepare_for_destroy_sock() is moved to inet_connection_sock.c
due to header dependency.
